Mussel dredger design

The mussel dredger, designed by Maaskant Shipyards is a modern twin propeller vessel, suitable for coastal and unrestricted operations. The vessel has no limitation to wind force and sea state. Basic functions of the mussel dredger include:

  • processing
  • transportation and
  • relaying.

Although the vessel is fully equipped to very high standards, the draught with full stores is with 1.15 metres very shallow. For this purpose, it is not necessary to make use of the water ballast system to trim the vessel. The mussel dredger meets the requirements of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping [LRS] for the notation 100A1 Fishing Vessel LMC as well as the requirements of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
